    AnimeBOSTON Recap
Well, guys, it’s Tuesday the 24th, and I’m home from AnimeBOSTON. (T_T)

I wanna go back there and live the weekend again, so I’m going to actually USE my 6 or 7 online blogs and write down my memory of this HAWT convention; with some aid of the conbook.

    Thursday:
Got my group ready to go. Mel/MissJiff, Sarah/Chizuko, and D/OokamiD, slept over my house and helped me finish details on my costume and pack.

    Friday:
Well, we got up at about 7, then started throwing bags and coolers into the van (Which I accidentally called ‘Vaan’ –as in the character from Final Fantasy 12-) for the 4-hour trip to Boston.
We left about 9 (my parents are annoying) and spent the car ride listening to iPods and munching on bags of chips. Sarah’s brand new laptop provided entertainments of the 18+ yaoi kind to the three in the back seat, while my sisters (Molly and Maggie) and I sat in the middle, with both parental units up front.

When we got to Boston, we grabbed our bags to change into costume, but then realized my costume bag had poofed. Needless to say, I cried (no seriously, I was BAWLING) while we got into the registration line. With our spiffy pre-registered selves, we got to go to the special line that moved WAY quicker than the maze of other badge-getters. Ten minutes later we gave mom our cell numbers and the five of us (Molly came with, though not Maggie) ran into the convention as fast as physically possible, stopping only to take pictures of the cosplayers that were every few inches.

We bummed around a few minutes and then went our separate ways. Molly met up with a friend who had come with her mom (Megan) and the two Pre-teens ran off to.... Somewhere. Sarah, Mel, and D did the same. That left me to rush AS FAST AS I COULD to the formal ball lessons by 3 o’clock so I could meet the cosplayers I’d arranged to meet there on cosplay.com (all, ten or so of them)

I found a few, like the Balthier I’d wanted to meet, and met a few more I hadn’t known beforehand. It’s funny, because only those of us at the class knew what we were doing at the Ball later, at least as far as waltzing, tangoing, or (Get this name) Foxtrotting. (Great name.)

As I left the dance lessons, I started running around taking peoples pictures and then went to ‘Anime Unscripted’ where I got to watch voice actors play ‘who’s line is it anyway?’ anime style. Greg Ayres, Luci Christian, and Mike Sinterniklaas (all of whom PWN) were the guests, along with a con staff member. I left that early and went back to my room to change for the Cherry Blossom Ball with my sister Molly and her friend Megan, who I’d found at ‘Anime Unscripted.’

I wore my black and red-flower Homecoming/Snoball dress for you Columbians, and otherwise I’ll have pics of me there up on my myspace (www.myspace.com/bishi_lover) soon.

Anyways, I danced with my practiced partners from the ball lessons and talked to other people I’d met there (if anyone knows the name of the staff member that asked me to dance, tell me so I can thank him.), and eventually shoved my sister into a dance with an Ouran High School Host Club cosplayer. She was VERY pissed at me, since she’s a horrible dancer, but she went. So I grabbed a Sasuke and ran out on the dance floor after her.

Ironically, I’d met this Sasuke before. He was a Time Jump Sasuke that I ran into about a hundred times at Conneticon 2006; named Kevin. We started talking when we were close enough to realize who each other were. (<-shut up, I hate grammar)

We eventually left the ball together so he could go get changed for the Yuri/Yaoi Anime Dating Game. I waited in the hotel lobby while he ran to his room and switched into the costume I remembered him wearing at Conneticon.

Of course, we were late because he’d taken a while. XP
As we start to try and get to the game, we couldn’t find the right room (Half the ballrooms had the same name; and of course neither of us had a con schedule at the time) and the woman who ran the game wasn’t answering her cell phone. When we figured out where it was (Don’t ask me how, I think I stole a random conbook) we tried to get to the area only to be stopped by hotel security (not con security, HOTEL security) who noticed Kevin had left his badge in the *ah-hem* disaster area known as his hotel room. The Security Guard (who we had to deal with ALL WEEKEND) was a real bitch about it too, as we tried to explain that we were already late.

Eventually, as we turned back to get his badge, one of his friends (I think Duke?) saw us and handed Kevin HIS badge so he’d get to the game! When we got to the room (Kevin was so frantic, he turned the wrong way every time I said which way to go, poor guy) he went in and I got in line with some other cosplayers.

    Turned out?
    Wrong line.
We had to switch hand I was sure they would run out of seats before I got there. I was sure I’d freak if that happened, but luckily it didn’t (though my seat was pretty far back, it was at least an aisle seat).

Afterwards, we walked around the rave, game room, and hallways talking. He eventually bought me dinner, the gentleman. ^_-
By the time I figured out that it was 4 AM, well, let’s just say I was in DEEP.

I think mom almost gave Kevin a heart attack since he’d been nice enough to walk me back to my room.
Forgot to add that we lost track of time watching Hikaru No Go and Comic Party at 3 AM. ^_^

    Saturday:

I left my hotel room with my roommates and sister at 9:30 in hopes of getting to the Full Metal Alchemist voice actor panel. We made it to the REALLY long line in good time and I was about to join them when Kevin ran by chasing a Pirate with a barrel from the Pirates VS Ninja VS Shinigami VS Alchemist Barrel Hunt. Of course, like the good ninja I am (^_-) I turned, called to Molly to save me two seats, and ran off after them.

The ninja crowd surrounded the shinigami and we spent 15 minutes trying to get rid of all the non-ninja that tried to take it. Eventually, Kevin and I laughed, left the ninja mob, and joined the others in the panel (about 10 minutes late).

We got a good laugh as everyone spoke of their lives as voice actors. When it was time to have the audience members ask questions, I waited with my hand in the air for like 20 minutes, before I FINALLY got to ask Travis (Roy Mustang) the question I’d been waiting forever to ask:

Me: “I waited 2 years to ask you this, Travis! If Roy likes Miniskirts, what does he think of Envy?”

Travis got really quiet and was all ‘well, I only found out Envy was a guy a while ago....’ (Vic probably told him after we told Vic at AnimeNEXT ’05) and Colleen made the comment that I’d done well to make Travis all awkward. XP

I felt better after leaving that and we all went to search the Dealers Room and the Artist Alley. We lost the others somewhere along the way, so it was just me, Molly, and Kevin. I sent Molly to get autographs for me and Kevin from Luci Christian while Kevin and I went to the Naruto Photoshoot. We met up with Mel and D for that, as they were Temari and Tsunade. We made it in time for me to say Hi to a few of my online friends form Cosplay.com, Like NiceGai (Who made me feel guilty because I’d promised to be Neji in a shoot with him. T_T) and many others. We got through group pictures (I was kinda jealous of the Sakura sitting on Kevin’s lap while I used both our cameras to take pictures. Did I mention Kevin’s hot? No, seriously, he was a gentlemen AND cute. Do you know how much girls love that? He even had his own stalker. She called him and glomped him every ten minutes and acted like she owned him. Bitch.)

Then after team pictures, while we geared up for the pairings and yaoi/yuri shoot, the Bleach cosplayers cause a riot and stole our photoshoot area! Bitches. (If you’re one of those cosplayers, you should be aware that I WILL get you, and soon, for interrupting me before I got my yaoi pictures.) We ninja dispersed because the Bleach cosplayers were actually hurting people (like the photographers) and causing such a scene that several people (like me) were trampled in the melee.

After that, before I could beat the shit out of the Bleach cosplayers Molly and Megan (who went with her to the autographs) called us worrying because the session was an hour late. Kevin and I made our way up to check on them, and found the line had just opened as we arrived. We reminded them to be careful, not damage the DVD’s Kevin wanted signs, and to call us when they got the autographs so they could meet us. Kevin and I began to wander towards Kareoke, where we found the line for the masquerade pretty long, but still short considering how many people were going to be in it later. Kevin and I opted to sit in line while waiting around, and took turns running around with our cameras to take pictures of everyone else in line; and the cosplayers walking around the area (Of which there were HUNDREDS).

We hung out and talked with our line neighbors while I took calls directing Molly and Megan to our spot and Kevin deleted the hundred messages from his crazy stalker fangirl. (No joke, I’ll tell ya about meeting her later.) The girls brought my Luci Christian collage and Kevin’s ‘Gunslinger Girl’ DVD Box Set (both now signed) back to us and settled down to wait with us. I’d been sitting next to Kevin and we didn’t have much room, but we squeezed Molly on my left and Megan sat across from her away from the wall, which allowed me to get a little closer to Kevin. (Seriously, have I mentioned how cute he is? I had like a breakdown trying to NOT like him. That kinda failed, by the way) During one of the times he wandered to take pictures, I sat back to guard our space bubble and lay my head on my jean backpack, telling my neighbor jokingly that since it was uncomfortable, maybe Kevin would offer me a shoulder (I was actually hoping for that though, truth be told.) I ended up REALLY dozing off to that point where you can kind of hear, but you just can’t get up; when Kevin sat down and elbowed me slightly. The plan backfired when I saw he had a pic of me sleeping all curled up in a ball (he’s gonna put that online too, he said so. *blush*) I got all pretend-mad and him and he laughed (which made me go all ‘Awww, Sasuke’s laughing!). Megan and Molly came back from THEIR camera break soon after and I put my head on Megan’s shoulder while Molly sat across from her. Kevin asked if I was sleepy, and I said yes and that Megan’s bony shoulder wasn’t a comfy pillow, which had everyone around getting a good laugh. Kevin commented that maybe we shouldn’t have been out ‘till 5AM then. (XP)

We sat for a while longer, when Mel, D, and Sarah showed up. To be truthful, I was kinda pissed at them for ditching me (not thinking I had done the same to them, of course) and I didn’t really want them jumping in line with us, but Kevin said it was okay to him (HE’S SO NICE) so I went along with it. Sarah, Mel and D ended up crowding Molly, Megan, me and Kevin into the wall, which was okay, ‘cause I was REALLY close to him and that was making me fangirl like never before. (Mental dialogue: He’s to cute for you, don’t swoon, don’t faint, can he hear my heartbeat? Repeat [no, this is not me being dramatic, I actually think like that.]) It didn’t help matters that Kevin’s shirt kept hanging open WAY more than actually necessary. Eventually, people started getting up as if we were moving, but after ten minutes standing, I sat down in annoyance. I don’t know who, but somebody ended up knocking Kevin (still right next to me) off balance and over onto me. It pinched my hip and I automatically yelped an ‘ow!’ while he scrambled off of me. He was so cute asking me if I was okay and helping me up and apologizing. I kept telling him it didn’t hurt THAT much, which made the others laugh because I’m such a wimp and get teary when people pinch me (I was probably okay with it just ‘cause Kevin was so sincere about everything). He put his arm over my shoulders and hugged me while he apologized and I felt VERY awkward. A good awkward, though. (Did that make ANY sense?)

Anyways, after a while they started seating us and we ended up in the first and second rows of the far right group of chairs, close to the stage and one of the screens. I sat beside Kevin (he was on the outside) while the others were behind us.

We watched the masquerade with lots of sarcastic jokes and interesting comments. Like when Rose (FullMetal Alchemist) began to dance to ‘Once Upon A December’ Kevin and I both started singing, and he confessed he LOVED the song (which made me go ‘awwwwww’) I also sang to ‘Far Away’ during the AMV winner showing. I had the most fun cheering on Jen, Carly, and Kim during their Larsa VS Vayne Duel. During this, Sarah made the cruel comment of saying I should’ve borrowed her Sakura costume. (GRRness)

We were all so hungry we left the masquerade a bit early to get dinner and get our pajama’s on for the PJ gathering. I wasn’t sure mom would let me, but I ended up wearing the blue flannel yellow duck pajamas and feeling REALLY embarrassed about it.

Unfortunately, at the PJ gathering that crazy TenTen was all over Kevin, and he was being nice ‘cause that’s the way he is, and I ended up lecturing her and being a little overprotective. Of course, being backed up by baby Gaara and bedtime SnJ Naruto helped.

We hung there a while, and then I went up and got changed into my rave outfit so mom would let me stay out later. I got back downstairs a little after midnight in black jeans and a striped sweater, and Kevin asked what happened to my pajamas. I jokingly asked him if he thought I looked better in the PJs than the rave outfit and he put an arm over my shoulders and said I looked good in both (PERMABLUSH!)

We played Red Light Green Light and hung in the second floor lobby to pass the time until my curfew, and it made me sad that I couldn’t stay later. When we said goodbye, we agreed to meet for the barrel finale at 10:30 the next morning.

When I got back to the hotel room, all I could think about was how I could show Kevin that I liked him and had a lot of fun. I figured I should just take the plunge, since it’s not like he lives anywhere near me or that I couldn’t avoid him if things got weird. Molly and Sarah agreed with me and told me to do it. I couldn’t get him out of my head that night.

    Sunday:

I woke up Sunday ready to cry ‘cause I didn’t want the weekend to end. I borrowed Sarah’s Sakura costume to surprise Kevin (I wanted to do SOMETHING to thank him for how nice he’d been). After I argued with my parents for an hour over when we were leaving, we all RAN to get to the main events hall where the finale was supposed to be. We waited around but only one barrel showed up; so I walked around with Molly towards the dealers room (Kevin had called and said he was coming out of it). I ran into him with two other friends of ours; and ran happily up to him with a ‘SURPRISE!’

He looked unsurprised though. Darn. But a few others bounded up and said I made a cute Sakura. We started walking and spent a bit of time at the charity auction where Molly and I bought a Negima 101 DVD for $50, signed by all the actors. (YATTA!)

We walked down to try and find some ramen and ended up at ‘The Last Supper’ where Jesus was partying with cosplayers. I got up on Kevin’s back and we danced around like maniacs, which is amusing because neither of us can dance. ^_^

He joked that since I was so light, I’d have to ride on his shoulders next time. I told him with my crappy balance I’d probably send us both on the ground, and hard. ^_-

When Molly lost her purse and I was forced to run around with her searching for it, I parted ways with Kevin, who was going to find his other friends and say goodbye to his ‘cosplay wife’ (an online friend of mine, Sakura [Time Jump]). Since I didn’t think I’d see him again, I gave him a kiss on the cheek and thanked him for being nice to me for the con. As I half-walked half-skipped away, he called to me and waved.

I didn’t see him again until halfway through the chess match, when I was worried about my friends that I couldn’t find and Kevin helped me. That stupid TenTen showed up and was all ‘I’m leaving, Sasuke!’ Kevin looked at me with a ‘finally’ in his eyes when she sat right on his lap! I was so pissed off I forgot to be depressed. He gave me a ‘help me’ look so I finally kicked her and she ran off all pissed again. I was pretty happy. After that I entered the main hall for my last hour of AnimeBOSTON.

The last time I saw Kevin my friends and I were headed out to meet my parents at the car. I told him we were leaving and he gave me a hug. I told him I’d call him Monday afternoon so we could get each-others e-mail, and I did. I’m waiting for him to respond to my voicemail and text message now, but I’ll admit I’m definitely NOT calm. Actually, I’m pretty damn hyper.

After we got in the car, I’m kind of ashamed to say I didn’t think about anyone but Kevin the whole ride home. I listened to songs on my iPod and suddenly everything related to him. Stuff like ‘For You I Will’ (Teddy Geiger) and ‘Lips of an Angel’ (Hinder) and ‘Goodbye to You’ (Michelle Branch) and even ‘Someday my Prince Will Come’ (Ashley Tisdale). Sounds like a bad Disney movie, right?

My story for Creative Writing, you like?

    Spiral

Meilin yawned. For a week of vacation, you would’ve expected more from the daughter of a well-to-do foreign family. Tugging at her necklace absentmindedly, she exited out of her internet search. So much for homework. Pushing her chair back as she rose, she glanced about her room.

Though the walls were a cerulean, you couldn’t tell that at a glance. Her ‘wallpaper’ of sorts would demand your attentions first. Her room was plastered in posters, photographs, and small shelves filled with figurines, most of which featured the same artist. Flopping back on her bed, she glanced up at the largest poster in her room, covering the vast majority of the azure ceiling. ‘Eyes Rutherford…’ she sighed in her head. The famous pianist had captured her heart seemingly ages ago. Had it really been only a year? Grinning at the memory, she rolled over onto her side.

    -italics-

It was pitch dark outside, but within the confines of her father’s limousine, it wasn’t as frightening as it could have been. Yawning, the young Meilin glanced yet again towards her parents across the car. “Are you going to tell me where we’re going yet?” the girl asked. Meilin was anything but tall, but she had an attitude that she tended to cop when bored or annoyed.

Her father smiled indulgently. “Not yet, little Mei. Don’t worry, Kouji will have us there in time.” He said.

She winced at the use of her childhood nickname. “He’ll have us where?” she whined.

    “Somewhere.”

She pouted. Being sixteen was all well and good, but she could’ve lived without this huge coming out party for all her fathers’ ancient friends and their puffed-up, egotistical children. Oh well, she’d put up with it for her birthday money. She couldn’t throw her REAL party until she had enough to take ALL her friends to Hawaii with her, not just a few.

The car came to a sudden stop in front of the largest building in their city. Meilin was fond of it normally, with its glass-encased restaurant on every floor and its elegant stage where any number of performers had entertained, but now it was just beautiful beyond compare. Her favorite violets and blues were strung all over the room, as the tablecloths, as the banners, even as many of the guests suits and dresses. Her favorite dishes were piled high on a banquet table, and for once even her normal friends were there. Standing in what were obviously tailor-made suits and new gowns, her friends waved from their table near the staircase. There was even a cake the size of a small city!

Meilin stared. “Wow… Mom… Dad…. You did all this just for me?”

Her mother smiled. “Just for tonight, the whole world is just for you, sweetie.”

She hugged her parents. “Thank you!!” she called as she ran down the stairs.

    -no italics-

Meilin smirked. Her parents had had quite the party for her for her 16th birthday, that was for certain. And yet a year later she still hadn’t seen any of those people again. Not that she was complaining about not seeing her fathers’ business partners, but still….

    -italics-

She stopped at the bottom of the stairs. The music had started and the spotlight was shining on a lone performer. Though you’d think that a piano alone couldn’t create the perfect tune that floated through the room, that’s exactly what it did. The boy at the keys played beautifully, seemingly oblivious to the guests in the room.

“Eyes Rutherford…” her friend muttered, “He’s supposed to be a prodigy…. The best young pianist in the world!”

Meilin shook her head to clear it of the music. It was almost hypnotic, but so was the boy creating it. His hair was white and silver, a stark contrast to Meilins’ night black locks, but his clothes made it difficult to discern him from the night through the windows behind him. His leather clothes must have been custom made, for they were unlike any Meilin had before seen. The shirt was sleeveless, and buckled in three places on the right side. He wore black wristbands, and his pants were skintight. The look was finished by the cape that made him look nearly vampiric. Pale though he was, he was a girls dream, and his blue eyes were expressive, like those of an animal. The chain around his neck held a small pendant that shined like the full moon in summer.

As the piece finished, Eyes stood and took his bow. “He’s amazing!” her friends whispered wistfully. ‘Perfect’ was the word she kept hearing.

As the next entertainers too the stage, Eyes stepped down and bowed directly to Meilin. “I hope you enjoyed the recital.” He said, voice as smooth as polished silver. He spoke with every air of a nobleman.

Meilins’ face flushed. “Very much so.”

“Forgive me for being thus bold, but may I have the honor of this dance?” he asked as the second band struck up a ballad.

    -no italics-

And that had been it. She hadn’t looked at another male since, nor had she missed even a one of his recitals. Not that she’d spoken to him since the party, though that was mostly her own fault. Every chance she’d had to speak with him, she’d either chickened out or turned from literate princess into babbling fool.

Unfortunately, this train of thought was halted by a bump and a yell outside her room. She ran to her window just in time to see one of the men outside her house go flying into the tree in her front yard. “Hey!” she yelled, jumping out the window. At the sound of her voice, the attacker fled. Meilin walked cautiously up to the other man laying facedown at the foot of the tree. She turned him over. “Hey…. You Oka-…. Ah!” she gasped. “Eyes?”

The boy moaned. The hat that had covered his hair had fallen, and though he looked tired and worn, he was unmistakably the same man that had played piano at the arena only a few days before. She glanced up. No one else lived nearby, and her parents wouldn’t be home for days yet.

She sighed. With a grunt and a hiss, she hefted him onto her back and pulled him towards her home.

As Meilin pulled him into the house, his eyes focused for a split second. One name escaped his lips…. “Blade Children….”

She scowled. There was that name again.

    March 14, 2006
Anyone who had ever sat in front of a computer or a television knew this date. The date the mysterious organization known as the Blade Children had launched the “Hades’ Kiss” virus upon the world. The virus knocked out internet data everywhere in the world for a hundred and fifteen minutes of apocalyptic hell. Several trillion dollars were lost as stock records were deleted, credit card debt erased, and bank accounts lost. If affected everyone and everything connected to the internet. There was even a point where several automatic nuclear defense systems were seconds from launch. Had the systems not come back when they did, they would’ve awoken to a nuclear Holocaust.

Because of this virus, the United Nations halted internet use, and the emerging net culture of the late 2oth century ground to a stop. Though FBI agents found the child, that’s right, child, who was responsible for creating the virus, he refused to name his superiors. He muttered only one name:
    “Blade Children….”

    And then he shot himself.

And since, the Blade Children had been the demons of the Earth, the ‘Al-Qaeda’ of the new age. And though internet use was eventually reestablished, no one used it carelessly anymore. Many had tried and failed to find the origins of the Blade Children. Many had never been seen again.

    Like Meilins’ brother.

Dayne was an investigative genus when Hades’ Kiss hit the internet. He was called in to investigate the Blade Children in New York City, and never came home.

    He was 16 years old.

In the four years that followed, Meilin would grow up in a world of uncertainty and fear. Thought she had been but Thirteen when last they spoke, she still remembered his last words…

“I’m going to find the Truth about the Blade Children.”

And then the line went dead.

So had most of her hope.

For the next four years, she would dwell in the shadow of her only sibling. No matter what she did, he’d done it better. No matter what she won, it didn’t matter because he’d won it first. Her skills were, at best, an imitation of her brothers’.

She set Eyes down on the couch. ‘I wonder if he’ll be all right.’ She wondered, ‘Should I call for an ambulance?’

The boy rolled over in his sleep. Meilin smiled. ‘Wait and see, I suppose. The least I can do is patch that cut though….’

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eyes awoke later, glancing around the room. Wherever he was, it was dark, but there was daylight behind the curtains. He winced as he noticed the pressure on his arm. Removing a blanket someone threw over him in the night, he saw his clothes torn and his left arm bandaged.

    “Oh, you’re awake?”

He turned to the voice. The girl who spoke was small, but pretty. Her hair was pulled up in partial buns, but even so it nearly trailed upon the ground. Her outfit was simple, a white T-shirt over Khaki’s, but even so, his expression turned to one of recognition.

    “You… You’re the Li girl….”

Meilin smiled. “I’m flattered that you remember me, Mr. Eyes Rutherford. You hungry?” she asked.

Eyes shrugged. “What happened?” he asked as she handed him French toast.

She began slicing her own breakfast of the chair across from the couch. “You tell me. You were outside my house, being attacked, and when I rescued you, you muttered something about the Blade Children.”

Eyes bit his tongue. ‘I don’t remember.” He said lamely.

Meilin smiled kindly. “You hit your head on a tree. It’s not too surprising.”

He smiled back. “I’m grateful for your help and hospitality. Please, let me take you out sometime soon.”

Meilin blushed. “It would be an honor and a pleasure.” She replied.

    BRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!!!!

The sudden noise made both teens jump. Eyes grinned. “Cell phone.” He said apologetically as he tugged it from his pocket. “Hello?”

“EYES!!!!” yelled a female voice, “WHERE ARE YOU?!”

Eyes held the phone at arms length. “My agent…” he said by way of explanation. He cautiously replied. “I’m fine. Just catching up with an old friend.”

“Well you’re late for an interview! Take your friend with you if you must, but GET GOING!!” click.

Eyes hung up. “Heheh…. Guess it’s time to get going.” He said, dialing his limo. He turned around as he approached the door. “Aren’t you coming?”

    Meilin looked up. “Huh?”

“She said to take you with me, didn’t she?” he asked, a mischievous look on his face.

Meilin grinned and ran to his side. “Yu-huh!”

Meilin stared around the limo. “You could host my school’s prom in here!” she said.

Eyes laughed next to her. “You’d think you’d never been in a limo before!”

“This is WAY ritzier than anything Mom or dad would buy!!!” she said.

:The ‘let’s live normal’ kind of rich, right?”

“Yu-huh.” She said as the car screeched to a stop. Eyes climbed out and held a hand out to her.

“C’mon.” he said, smiling. “We’ll go out to eat after, if you still have an appetite after this insanity.”

She blinked and took his hand. “What’d you me- Ah!” she cried, covering her eyes with her arm. “It’s broad daylight, are flashbulbs really necessary?”

Eyes smirked. “What, you thought the sunglasses were just for show?”

    Meilin grinned. “I’d hoped so.”

Eyes escorted her inside, shutting the doors behind him with a sigh.

    “Is it always like that?”

    “Mostly.”

Meilin blinked rapidly. “My eyes will never be the same.”

“You’ll get used to it.” He said as they entered the interview room.

After rolling her eyes through a hundred questions she knew the answers to, and being asked about as though she wasn’t there, Eyes finally ended the interview. “I’m sorry about that…” he said apologetically.

She shrugged. “It was all fine until they asked about me.”

“That was totally out of line. I apologize….”

“Oh, you didn’t do anything wrong, Eyes.” She said, turning red again.

“I shouldn’tve dragged you in there. Please, let me make it up to you by buying you dinner…”

Meilin smiled brightly. “Of course. But I’ve gotta go home and grab some things first…”

Her eyes when wide. Sweat dripped down her face and her pupils dilated as she saw the apocalyptic destruction of the room. Meilins’ house was as spotless as she’d left it everywhere but here. Here, in her own room, the devastation was total and complete. Her computer was ripped from the desk, the keyboard on her now diagonal bed. Her posters and figurines, shattered and torn, littered the floor. Her bookshelves had all been torn from her closet and her stereo was so much scrap metal. Even her dolls and clothes were torn and flung about the room.

But all that carnage was dwarfed in comparison by what had happened to her largest poster. Dripping red paint that looked like blood, her ceiling had been graffitied….

    -italics-

Beware the Blade Children. Learn the lesson your family did not, and mind that which is your own concern!

    -no italics-

Meilin fell to her knees. “What…. The…?”

    Eyes grabbed her shoulders. “Meilin… C’mon, let’s go….”

    She sobbed. “But…. My stuff… My room…”

“Things can be replaced! It’s not worth your life. The one who did this might still be nearby… Let’s have the police handle it…. C’mon….” He pulled her to her feet. Clutching onto him for support, she glanced, weak-kneed, at her valued possessions.

“All those rarities I’ll never be able to get my hands on again….” She murmured.

“It’ll be alright.” He told her as he led her from the room. “It’ll be alright….”

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sheriff hung up the phone abruptly. “I’m sorry to say, but I can’t find your parents anywhere.”

Meilin pulled the blanket tighter over her shoulders and sobbed. “I knew it! I knew it…”

Eyes put his arm around her. “What?”

“Didn’t you see?” she wailed, “‘The lesson your family did not…’ Not my brother… my family…. Mom and Dad are gone, they’re just like Dayne now! I’m all alone….”

Eyes smiled sadly. “Don’t worry… They’ll find them… Meanwhile, you can stay with me!”

She looked up with a sniff. “I can what…?” she asked, disbelieving.

“I can’t help but feel a little responsible.” He said, his eyes betraying his words.

    ‘Considering it was my fault.’

“It’d be an honor to have you stay with me until this all blows over.”

She sniffed again. “O-Okay….” She said softly.

Eyes pulled her from her seat. “C’mon. You’re probably starving.” He said, taking her back to the limo.

Laying down on the seat, wrapped in a blanket, Meilin stared at the floor. Eyes put her head on his lap, smoothing her hair softly. “Don’t worry… It’ll be alright…. I promise.”

    Chaos!!!!!
    Holy Hell.... What a day.....

Okay, y'all need to know i'm going to the cosplay picnic is Saratoga Spa State Park this Saturday, and my friends and I are going in a Shaman King group. Emma is Faust, I am Anna, and so on.

Well, I had the dress and the Headband weeks ago, but I left the beads untill today. Biggest mistake i ever made in my life. I figured, lets go get some blue clay-doh and that'll be it right? Wrong.

    *****11:54 Am******
What an ordeal! First, Wal-Mart, a few miles away. Well, of course, no blue clay or anything, and mom wouldn't shelve the money for the multi-pack, so off we go to Jo-Ann's, looking for normal beads and paint. Well, we all know how large the beads on Anna's necklace are. It was a hassle, but a cheap variety pack had them. Then, to find the perfect paint. Found it.

    ******4:12 PM******
    Yes, it took that long.

Now i'm home, and tomorrow, I will go out into the sun (I'm melting! MELTING!!!) And paint beads before stringing them with fishing line.

    AnimeNEXT
*Starry eyes* ah joy!!! I have met my GODS!

    you're probably mega-confused, so I'll explain.

Yesterday Schweppes, her twin brother (Ryan), Joe, and I all went to AnimeNEXT convention in New Jersey. We had hoped to get autographs from the FullMetal Alchemist voice actors:
Vic Mignona: Edward Elric (Dark, DNAngel, Kurtz, Fullmetal Panic)
    Catlin Grass: Winry Rockbell
    Travis Willingham: Roy Mustang

We went to the panel, and we had them making jokes about eachother like there was no tomorrow. Travis-San did the MINISKIRT line, and Mignona-Sama brought a boy who was like 8 in a Dark Mousy costume up on stage and was praising him in front of hundreds. They told storys of Aaron Dismuke (Alphonse) getting fidgety in the recording studio, and Travis having no love life, Of Catlin's obsseion with anime and Vic's obsession with Fullmetal Alchemist Merchandise, and of all of them becoming voice actors! (Travis' story was best. His fraternity went past ESPN, got hooked on Dragonball Z, and he noticed Laura Bailey, the voice of Kid Trunks, on the credits. He knew her, called her up, and said: "WHY ARE YOU ON DRAGONBALL?" Bailey: "I do the voice of Kid Trunks..." Travis: "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL BE?! can you hook a brother up?") Mignona was asked about his opinion of slash, and the respose was thus: "I'M SETTLING THIS SLASH THING ONCE AND FOR ALL! Ed likes GIRLS!!!" I was in heaven,

But the staff cut the line directly in front of us. (I nearly killed them.) And we all walked away. (Crying in my case....) Later, we met them just walking around the con like normal people! I noticed Mignona-Sama, then I saw Catlin-San's Alphonse hat. We were so happy! We talked to them and they even gave us autographs! I'll post pictures of this con (And them and my autographs) when I get them developed.

    I asked Mignona-Sama:

    Meilin:
"Mr. Mignona, I know Roy likes miniskirts, but how does he feel about Envy?"
    Mignona-Sama:
"*Laughs with Catlin-Senpai* Well... *chuckles* Mustang would PROBABLY not mind getting it up with Envy if (I swear he said this, it is NOT a typo) she wasn't so evil."
    MeIlinII: "*looks at Joe/Schweppes/Chizuko* SHE?!"

    Cosplayer Count:
    Ed: 57
    Roy: 7
    Hawkeye: 1
    Envy: 2
    Lust: 1
    Greed: 1
